Hackles

The Hackle & Plume Collection at Military Direct pays tribute to the time-honoured traditions of British military and ceremonial uniform. Worn by Fusilier, Scottish and Irish regiments and by bands, hackles (short clipped coloured feathers) and plumes (longer sprays of feather or horsehair) express regimental identity, pride and heritage.

Each piece is made to parade-standard specification, with feathers dyed to the correct regimental colours and mounted for wear on berets, glengarries, Tam O'Shanters, feather bonnets and other traditional headdress.
